HOW EFFECTIVE IS THE COMBINATION OF YOUR MAIN PRODUCT AND ANCILLARY TEXTS?

Not only would audiences be targeted generally by physical posters in prominent places such as in train stations or bus stops, but also by targeted advertising online. Web 3.0  will track those who visit our website or social media outlets, and add ‘cookies’ so that they receive direct advertising when visiting other websites. This may also cause them to see our trailer as an advertisement before accessing an online service, such as watching a YouTube video. The higher the exposure that they receive in relation to our film, the more likely they will be to watch it when it is released. Even so, if an individual becomes bombarded with advertisements for our film they may develop a negative outlook to the production, so the balance of advertising needs to be carefully managed.

Similarly, being featured on the cover Empire magazine promotes our film to much larger audiences who are fans of films. The article in the paper copies of the magazine, as well as digital copies and online articles, will give readers an insight into our film to develop an anticipation for the release of the movie.

 

Both the poster and magazine have the protagonist, Mark Williams, as the main subject so that audiences are immediately aware that he is a main character in the film. Ideally, the advertisements would include similar posters, but each with a different primary character as the focus. This will introduce those involved, and if they are in a similar design then audiences will immediately make a connection, but will be less likely to become bored with seeing the same poster. Therefore, audiences receive more exposure to our film, but in a more varied way.

The website address is found on the bottom of the poster and at the end of the trailer. This encourages potential audiences to visit the website, and they would therefore be more likely to see the film. In addition to this, the links to Facebook and Twitter are found at the end of '''''

This allows for audience to interact with and distribute the advertisements across the interest, instigating the process of a two-step flow.
